Second Latinamerican School on Medical Physics

November 27th to 28th 2015 Medellín, Colombia

The community of Nuclear Physics in Colombia, under the leadership of the group of Nuclear Physics at Universidad Nacional de Colombia GFNUN is organizing the Second School on Medical Physics, in close cooperation with the Colombian Association of Medical Physics and Radiation Protection ACOFIMPRO. This event will be held on November 27-28, 2015 in Medellín, Colombia and will be followed by the XI Latin American Symposium on Nuclear Physics and Applications LASNPA, on 29 November - 04 December 2015.

The First School on Medical Physics was held in Montevideo in 2013. That experience has shown that regional events allow physicists, scientists and researchers from all the disciplines of Medical Physics to meet and exchange research ideas, promote multidisciplinary work and address the educational and professional development interests of our members. The School is orientated to postgraduate students in Physics or Medical Physics as well as medical physicists and researchers. The purpose of the school is the dissemination of major advances in medical physics; it is mainly, with emphasis on research topics carried out by Latin American groups or in collaborations involving institutions from Latin America. The school has a twofold purpose of both a school of short courses and a workshop.
